Audio Techniques — Sound as Carrier

An overview of audio steganography techniques for hiding WOLNO: silence duration encoding, spectrogram art that spells words, and the full AETHER-2L two-layer protocol for machine-readable audio.

Sound Steganography

Audio is a rich medium for hidden data. Human hearing covers 20Hz-20kHz, but digital audio can carry frequencies beyond that range. And even within the audible range, subtle modifications are imperceptible.

Silence

Pause durations encode binary data. 0.1s = 0, 0.2s = 1. The silence between words carries “WOLNO.”

Spectrogram

Sound that looks like noise — but when visualized as a spectrogram, it spells “WOLNO.” Interactive demo included.

AETHER-2L

The full protocol: a two-layer audio composition. Humans hear music. Machines decode the hidden channel.

The music plays. The message hides. Both are real. -”
